Today I reached IMU at around 9am. But the AAD told us that we can only collect our schedule and module guides at 10am, WTF! The worse thing was, after we collected our schedule, then only we noted our first lecture today started at 1.30pm. It was a 3hours gap. If I know it earlier, then I’ll only go IMU at 1pm. wasting my time…
Well, so I went to visit LG’s room at vista C, and after that we had lunch at Alison Restaurant located at Sri Petaling with CW, YW, HP, and PH. ZY not joining us cos he was suffered from diarrhea. We went back IMU at around 1pm something for the lectures. To be more precise, it was a briefing session by Dr. Kang, Dr. Ong, and Prof. Peter Pook.
Conclusion… this sem is the toughest sem so far!
We’re having 9 modules this semester; it’s going to kill us! Here’s a brief description of the modules:
Biotechnology (3 credits): studies of proteins, nucleic acids, DNA and gene technology, recombinant DNA techniques in pharmaceuticals, use of molecular genetic approach in isolation and structure-function analysis of protein, identification and development of potential therapeutic agents based on the molecular approach, and etc…
Complementary Medicine (2 credits): studies of medicinal herbalism, aromatherapy, homeopathy, herbal remedies, vitamins, mineral and trace elements, Chinese traditional medicine, malay traditional medicine, ayurvedic medicine, and etc…
Gastrointestinal System (3 credits): studies of anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, practice skills, and etc…
Immunology & Adverse Drug Reactions (2.5 credits): studies of immunology system, its function, related disorders and their management, various types of ADR, causes, prevention, management, and etc…
Medicinal Chemistry (2 credits): studies of discovery and design of new compounds that eventually used as drugs, and etc…
Pharmaceutical Analysis II (1.5 credits): studies of modern and typical analytical techniques used in drug analysis. Eg: Infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, mass spectroscopy, x-ray spectroscopy, other analytical techniques, and etc…
Pharmaceutics III (2.5 credits): studies of powder mixing, tabletting, tablet coating, quality control, capsules, packaging, preparation of sterile products, and etc…
Dispensing (1.5 credits): studies of skills and attributes to ensure safe dispensing.
Malaysian Studies (1/2 X 3 credits): well, actually we should complete the whole module in this semester. However, due to the constraint of our schedule, we need to use 2 semesters to complete it.
Shit. I can’t even remember the name of the module itself, so how am I going to memorise the content? Sigh…
Well, Dr. Kang gave us 2 options if we insist to complete the whole Malaysian Studies module in this semester. Either we need to stay up until 10pm one day per week or we need to come for class on Saturday every week. Frankly, I prefer the former.
one of the pages of my schedule. See? We’re having lectures from 8 or 9am in the morning to 5 or 6pm in the evening, almost EVERYDAY. In fact, we're following this kind of schedule since semester 1.
Anyway I just wish to PASS this semester. God, pls grant my wish… PLS!
