Attachment: Pharmaceutical Industry

Working Hours: 8am to 5.30pm from Monday to Friday.

It’s OVER! Finally!!!

Frankly speaking, I just hate working as I need to get up from my bed at 6am and prepare to work (everyday). In addition, it was such a huge distance all the way from Cheras to Bangi. You know what? Driving is tiring!!!

So what have I learned?

• I guess my Malay language is getting better as KS and I have translated more than 100 SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedure) for them, just for the sake of NPCB (National Pharmaceutical Control Bureau) want to review it. Our main job was to translate SOP from day 1 to day 10. For this reason, we set up our own department – SOP-Translating Team!
• We attended a seminar conducted by Madam Tan and Mr. Efendi. It was all about “Granulation” and “QC (Quality Control) and Sampling”.
• I helped the “Filing Auntie” (that’s what I called her) to sort and to file all her documents that have been piled up since months ago. I have a sense of satisfaction as she missed me so much on the next day, most probably due to my high efficiency. He-he.
• KS and I helped the QC lab technicians to conduct the QC tests on some samples of the finished products. We did weighing, disintegration test, and specific gravity test (Yup, I know it was boring!). KS felt very bad as she poured off some of the samples accidentally. Hmm… I guess the lab technician hates us! Ha-ha.
• The food in canteen SUCKS!!! I’m not going to complain much as the lunch is FREE, as long as you take 1 meat and 1 vege ONLY. So what you can expect?
• We attended a workshop on “Microbial Limit Test” conducted by Ms. KL, the microbiologist there. I learned something new!

Well, all the staffs there are really nice people. They are always ready to help us when we have any doubts, guiding us on doing our things, and sharing their knowledge and working experiences with us. After all, I have learned something new from this 2-week-attachement. =)
